What is Autonomic Nervous System Disorder? 
Long-term anxiety or stress can cause stimulations in the brain, leading to autonomic nervous system disorders. Brain functions will decrease and patients will often experience headaches, dizziness, anxiety, insomnia, memory loss, etc. This could also lead to the weakening of the immune system, digestive system, hormonal secretion, and reproductive system. 

What are the symptoms? 
Insomnia, fatigue, easily irritated, panic, headache, dizziness, dry eyes, dry mouth, tinnitus, phlegm, chest tightness and palpitations, indigestion, constipation or diarrhea, frequent urination, fever and chills, body aches, abnormal perspiration, etc.

TCM Autonomic Nervous System Disorders Types
This condition is caused by external factors, emotional stress, or congenital weakness leading to deficiency of the five viscera. Based on the patient's physical state, different treatments can be used. 

Liver Depression and Qi Stagnation
Symptoms: Emotional instability, anxiety, irritability, headache, rib pain, difficulty sleeping, vivid dreams, dry and bitter mouth, constipation.
Treatment: Soothe the liver and regulate energy.

Yin Deficiency and Excess Heat
Symptoms: Often staying up late, restlessness, dizziness, forgetfulness, tinnitus, heat sensation in the palms and soles, dry mouth.
Treatment: Nourish body and alleviate heat.

Heart-Spleen Deficiency
Symptoms: Weakness or anemia, jaundice, dizziness, palpitations, forgetfulness, insomnia, fatigue, reduced appetite, bloating, and diarrhea after eating.
Treatment: Tonify the heart and spleen.

Heart Qi Deficiency 
Symptoms: Insufficient heart energy, easily startled, suspicious, frequent nightmares, waking up in a panic, prone to sweating due to nervousness.
Treatment: Tonify Qi and calm the mind.

Daily reminders: 
1. Avoid overworking and being overstressed
2. Moderate exercise like yoga, spa massages, abdominal breathing exercises, and tai chi is beneficial to the autonomic nervous system
3. Moderate consumption of vitamin B6 can alleviate stress and feelings of fatigue
4. Consume more fresh fruits and vitamin C to alleviate anxiety
5. Vitamin E alleviates symptoms of anxiety and depression
6. Milk contains calcium and magnesium that can aid in regulating emotions
7. Avoid foods that are over-sweetened, have excess sodium, and over-caffeinated
