//General Consultation//

1. When should I consider receiving an egg donation?
Of an older age or for unknown reasons causing premature ovarian failure or infertility
Turner Syndrome 
Infections, operations, immune or chemotherapy drugs that cause loss of ovarian activity
Genetic diseases could not be assisted by PGD 

2. What are the requirements for receiving egg donation?
Due to Taiwan’s policy:
  • Valid marriage license
  • Need to receive artificial reproduction after evaluation
  • One of the spouses is diagnosed with infertility or a genetic disease
  • One of the spouses still possesses healthy reproductive cells

3. Is there an age limit for receiving egg donation?
As long as the couple is legally married, meets the above criteria, and a doctor evaluates that the couple needs egg donation, the treatment can be carried out. 

4. What is the source of the egg donations?
Legal and healthy young women who have volunteered and gone through an extensive evaluation before donating. 

5. What are the donor requirements?
  • Female between 20-40 years old
  • BMI between 18.5-24
  • No anemia, genetic, or chronic diseases 
  • No tattoos within 1 year
6. How do we ensure the quality and health of the eggs? 
NUWA Fertility Center prioritizes the health of a donor. The donor will be evaluated by our doctors and nurses and will receive extensive health check-ups to ensure they are healthy. They will also follow up regularly to adjust the treatment.

7. Can I see a photo of the egg donor? 
Due to Taiwan’s policy, the egg donor’s information will be kept confidential.

8. Can I get more information about the egg donor’s characteristics?
We will only be able to provide the blood type, race, and skin color of the egg donor.

//Process//

1. How long does it take? 
Generally speaking, it will take around 4-6 months.

2. What are the required documents to prepare?
  • Valid copies of Taiwanese ID cards
  • Husband: Fourth-degree relative documents
  • Wife: third-degree relative documents
  • Oocyte (egg) Donation Consent Form that’s been notarized
  • Valid marriage certification
  • IVF Consent Form
  • Medical Reports (HIV, VDRL, blood type, etc.) 
3. How does egg matching work?
It depends on the information, we will contact you if there is a successful matching.

4. Can I choose the donor?
No. Due to Taiwan’s policy, the donor and recipient’s information will be kept confidential.

//Risks and Ethics//

1. Does egg donation for IVF ensure a successful pregnancy?
Based on the government’s statistical data, the live birth rate is approximately 43.7%. It is also influenced by various factors such as age, semen quality, and uterine condition.

2. Will the donor be a relative of my husband’s?
No. We will wait for HPA’s confirmation of consanguinity before proceeding with the treatment.

3. Is it possible for my child to marry close relatives?
According to Taiwan’s government, the chances of it happening are close to 1/50,000,000, which is lower than the chance of winning the lottery. There is more information regarding this concern on the HPA website.
