Today, I want to share a heartwarming and inspiring story with you all. A Taiwanese-American couple, after experiencing setbacks with two assisted reproductive treatments in the U.S., flew back to Taiwan for egg retrieval, resulting in a successful pregnancy on their first embryo transfer.

Failed Attempts in the U.S., Returned to Taiwan for Treatment

“Hello, Dr. Chen, I just wanted to let you know that we welcomed our daughter on May 22nd. We are extremely grateful to you and your team for bringing this little angel into our lives.”

You traveled from the U.S. to seek treatment in Taiwan, and we welcome and thank your whole family for returning to your roots and living on this land. Ms. A, whose father is Taiwanese, was born and raised in the U.S. After being married to her husband for many years, they faced difficulties conceiving. Despite having two cats and a dog for companionship, there was still a lingering sense of regret.

After two unsuccessful assisted reproductive treatment attempts in the U.S., she was introduced to me by a friend. We conducted several telemedicine consultations, discussing the U.S. data and treatment plans in detail, and together we mapped out a long-term strategy for their journey back to Taiwan.

Successful Pregnancy on First Embryo Transfer, Starting a New Life in Taiwan

Ironically, the most complicated part of the process turned out to be arranging for their pets. The whole family crossed the ocean together, but fortunately, after just one egg retrieval surgery and one embryo transfer, she became pregnant. They gradually adapted to the pace of life in Taiwan, feeling that the efficiency of the cross-department referrals and coordinated care here far surpasses that of the U.S.

Luckily, the couple applied for remote work with their company, turning what was initially a short-term stay into a more permanent residence. They even joked about staying long-term to brush up on their long-forgotten Mandarin.

Receiving messages from patients like this always recharges me instantly. I wish their entire family peace and happiness.
