On December 12th, NUWA had the honor of hosting Professor Claus Yding Andersen, a globally acclaimed expert in fertility preservation. As a distinguished professor at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, he's served as the university’s Director of Laboratory of Reproductive Biology since 2009. In the mid-1980s, he was a pioneering member of the team that introduced IVF technology to Denmark.

During his visit, Professor Andersen delivered in-depth and insightful lectures based on his extensive research on the following topics:
1. Preserving fertility and endocrine function by freezing ovarian tissue: the impact it has on women
2. Male Fertility Restoration – new treatment strategies and development

Dr. Chi-Hong Liu, NUWA Fertility Center’s Principal Medical Consultant and a leading expert in infertility, emphasized that Professor Andersen’s presentation was not only academically rigorous but also highly inspirational. He highlighted the increasing urgency of fertility preservation in the context of societal changes, particularly the growing trend of delayed marriage and childbirth. With advancements such as ovarian tissue freezing and reimplantation now achieving live births, leveraging cutting-edge reproductive medicine to enhance treatments and fulfill patients' dreams of parenthood would be a profound benefit for both individuals and families.

Dr. Chi-Hong Liu also took the opportunity to showcase the achievements of Taiwan's reproductive medicine and NUWA’s innovative results to Professor Andersen. NUWA’s team, composed of doctors with a collective track record of over 10,000 successful IVF cases*, has, in just a few short years, helped more than 1,000 families welcome new life. In addition to setting outstanding pregnancy success rates, the team also participates in international academic exchanges and consistently publishes high-quality research, helping Taiwan gain global recognition.

During his visit, Professor Andersen was given an in-depth introduction to NUWA’s world-class laboratory by Yu-Wen Weng, NUWA’s Deputy Laboratory Director. The facilities include an ISO6 1000-grade cleanroom, a 24-hour comprehensive monitoring system, and a meticulously planned layout for embryologists. These details exemplify NUWA’s core philosophy of "Excellence in Every Detail," earning high praise from the visiting international expert. Professor Andersen also graciously accepted NUWA’s invitation to visit again in the future to share his valuable experience.

Looking ahead, there are numerous opportunities for both sides to join forces and explore groundbreaking research in hopes of shaping the future of reproductive medicine together.
